Key Information
We are a Lancashire County Council maintained Nursery School providing high quality early years education for two, three and four year old children. We provide a safe, stimulating, caring and loving environment that promotes child development in line with the principals of the Early Years Foundation Stage. Our ethos is to focus on children's interests. We seek to find out from children what it feels like to attend Fairfield Nursery School. Children are encouraged to progress at a pace that is right for them as individuals, taking account of any particular needs they might have.
Our head teacher is a specialist in early years education and the staff are all highly skilled and qualified in their field. The teachers work co-operatively with staff, to plan the provision from a child's viewpoint. We promote a reflective practice where staff development is important and ongoing.
We actively promote outdoor play, with a wide range of equipment and activities. Children have weekly access to our woodland space.
We believe in welcoming the family and not just the child and to this end we offer opportunities for parents to become involved in their children's learning and nursery life.
We have intakes in January, April and September so no child is waiting too long to begin this exciting journey.
We offer either five mornings or five afternoons for the free 15 hours Early Years Funding and a combination of both sessions for three and four year olds who are eligible for the Free 30 hour Funding. We will discuss further options of accessing our school on request. Two year olds who are not eligible for the Free entitlement are welcome and will be charged until the term after their third birthday.
Morning sessions are 8.40am to 11.40am
Afternoon sessions are 12.35pm to 3.35pm
